Joseph R. Pawlick
Joseph Pawlick is a founding partner of Watkins, Pawlick, Calati & Prifti, previously working along-side the same team at Sachs Waldman. He also previously worked at a labor law firm in Chicago. Joe’s current practice focuses on representing multiemployer trust funds in all respects from plan design and compliance, to benefit claims and other individual participant matters, to negotiating service provider contracts and reviewing governmental filings. Given the breadth of his client base and practice providing counsel to health care funds in particular, Joe has developed a broad expertise in legal issues confronting such funds and has helped our clients navigate through the uncertainties of an ever-changing legal environment. He is also generally regarded as an expert in ERISA fiduciary duties, successfully concluding numerous Department of Labor investigations of clients.
Joe is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. in Economics 2002) and the DePaul University College of Law (J.D. 2006).
Joe’s practice is entirely employee benefits law, particularly Taft-Hartley pension, profit sharing, annuity, health care, vacation and holiday, apprenticeship and supplemental unemployment benefit funds.
He is a member of the State Bars of Michigan and Illinois, and is admitted to practice before all Michigan and Illinois courts and numerous federal courts.
